元旦東北縱走 - January 1 2014


2014年1月1日,好天氣,新年新開始,第一次玩XTE的元旦東北縱走。

第一次去新界東北地區,風景還挺漂亮的。從新娘潭開始,跟著馬路跑到烏蛟騰,經過平坦的山徑到荔枝窩。穿過密林上吊燈籠,下來後到鹿頸,之後就跟著衛奕信徑徑第十段跑回大尾篤沖線。

開始的山路平坦好跑,只是人多路窄,過人時總有點麻煩。上吊燈籠的爬坡,算是最辛苦的一段。但只要想起在鳳凰山登頂,這個區區四百多米的吊燈籠便不算什麼。一路上山都能保持快步行,盡逼前面的跑手。下坡一直是弱點,幸運的是從吊燈籠下來的一段盡力跟著前面的跑手,走他走過的路,抓他抓過得樹枝。省下不少自己找路的時間。跑到鹿頸,剛好三個小時,肚子開始咕咕作響。心想大概還有七到八公里,身上的食物應該夠撐到終點,就沒拿power gel,只是拿了一些水動樂就繼續。沒想到逆走衛奕信徑時不停的上坡,雖然上坡對自己有利,但肌肉也開始有點累,也擔心水跟食物不夠。上坡還可以快步行,但後段平路開始跑不動。結果撐到終點,剩下兩口水跟一顆二寶,剛剛好。從最近兩次跑山的經驗,撞牆的時間大概在三到三個半小時出現,以後的比賽要好好計畫食物的補給。

這次的hydration vest,換了屈臣氏的水樽,胸口舒服多了。水樽沒有拋來拋去,非常舒服。只是腋下的小袋,拿東西正如這個review所說,真是非常不方便。

奇怪的是,環島回來後,左腿的hamstring好像沒之前那麼緊。九天沒跑步,算是讓跑步的肌肉休息一下。也因為這幾天放假,沒事做就躲在房間裡追看master chef,同時把foam roller,高爾夫球,按摩機全部拿出來,把雙腿的肌肉都好好按摩一下。這陣子雖然跑多了,但休息夠,也花很多時間做恢復,身體也不卻覺得太累。要上班的日子,睡得不夠,恢復也做不夠,搞得越跑越累。

New Year North East Mountain Race 2014

This race bought runners to the remote north eastern part of the Hong Kong, which is not covered by any one of the 4 long hiking trails.

Taking place at Jan 1 2014, the race started from Bride’s Pool. The first 10km was an enjoyable jog on rather flat route. Through Wu Kau Tang, It took runners to the first check point Lai Chi Wo, which is described as the "walled-village“. The route then split with the Challenge group continued on the flat route, while the Elite group went for some serious bushwhacking to find the way up to Tiu Tang Lung.

The 2 groups then joined at Luk Keng, where runners could enjoy the view of Shenzhen right across the Starling Inlet. Leaving the second check point at Luk Keng, the last 10 km was the test on runners' endurance. Running in reverse direction of Wilson Trail Section 10, the route was a gradual ascent to reach the foot of Pat Sin Leng. The final section was an easy descent to Tai Mei Tuk. This first trail running race in 2014 finished at Plover Cove Reservoir, where runners could enjoy the excellent weather and an excellent post race treat - a slice of pizza.

特色:賽道有特色,穿越新界東北一帶,都是平時很少去的地方。不算特別難跑,只是上吊燈籠是要穿過密林。以$100參賽費來說,有風景看,有補水跟power gel補給,賽後還有pizza,算是超值的了。 比賽10:00才開始,但大會安排的巴士7:30已經出發,要是可以改到8:30會更好。
